Use some dish soap mixed up in a spray bottle, that should remove the residue.


Automagic makes 2 products that would work for you when your moldings need restoring. One of them is called bumper magic, this would work well if you just want to add some gloss back to them.

If what your trying to restore is truley faded you will need something more then just some silicone based dressing. They also have a product called black trim restorer i think. Its almost like a paint/dye. You apply it with a brush and let it dry. Like i said this is not a silicone dressing this will restore the actual color of the moldings and it won't wash off.
