    Cat Piss...

Got a customers car yesturday that I have my hands on untill the 25th... Needed and Oil change, full detail and to get rid of this HORRIBLE piss smell.. The guys runs the local electrician union picnic and he had his tailgate open (03? Saturn Vue) and he assumes the cat jumped in an pissed in it... last weeek! Anyway, Im having a very hard time gettin the smell out... i pull all of the carpet and paneling out of trunk, washed down the inside with some pine sol, sprinkled a little baby powder, and then put a coupl cups of ammonia in the car.

Im waiting untill i get my Poorboys APC (10:1 dilute), but are there any other remedies you guys have to help me clear the car of this smell? I got a feeling that im going to end up taking everything out of the car on saturday, and airing it all out..

Folex is something that would work...you need to get at the pad...I`m betting that`s where most if not all the smell is at...

Go to a store that specialises in products for animals.
Dogs N Cats R Us or some such place. They`ve got the stuff that will work. My Son stored a car last winter and never checked on it and in the spring he discovered that about three or four generations of mice had taken up residence in the car. Under the mat and in the duct system. took a long time to get it out but the only thing that work was the specialized cleaner. Also, it must come in direct with the urine stains.

    Have a NICE day!

    Re: Cat Piss...

Your going to need a enzyme type cleaner that will attack the odor causing bacteria....you will be able to get it at a vets or pet supply store....and you will need to get the padding with the solution also or replace it....

If urine areas are not done right the odor will come back....after the cover scent from soaps wears off....

Goggle Urine odor removers and you will get the names of some....they do work....

    Re: Cat Piss...

I bought a Jeep a few weeks ago that came with some nasty odor also. I tried a few APC products with no luck. Odor eliminators seemed to cover it for awhile. I went to a janitorial supply store in town, they suggested an enzyme type cleaner. I mixed it a 1:1, soaked the area pretty heavy, let it sit a few hours and extracted it with my little green machine. Worked great, the smell is gone.

well.. on my break i went home and dug through my moms cabinet for cleaners and came across oxy clean woolite - said removes urine smells... i shot the two floor panels that go in the trunk, let it work in for a few minutes, dabbed it dry, and then shop vac`d it.... obviously it smells great RIGHT NOW, but lets see how it holds up tomorrow, i laid it out to dry in my fathers shop

    Re: Cat Piss...

the hardest part about cleanin this car, is that im not too sure where the smell is actually comming from... its smells extremely strong in the whole, and today i did a little sniffing (holding myself back from puking!) and it seems like the strongest place was the trunk area, hopefully tomorrow i can open up the car and only smell ammonia lol then ill open upp all the doors/windows, let it breathe and yet again shampoo the carpets/seats
