MF towels are getting cheaper

It must be getting cheaper to produce MF towels .
A friend of mine found these mf towels 16"X 16"and 8" X 16" both in a neat package for only 99 cents!!
So I asked him to pick up 10 more for me,they seem to be of above average quality,very thick/plush well made towels.

Re: MF towels are getting cheaper

They look like "loose fiber" towels, rather than looped fiber. I bet they will lint like crazy.

Also, remember, you get what you pay for. They may be fine for "grunge" work.

Good luck with them.

Cheap = quality
Inexpensive = price

If they work well for you, that's all that matters. They do look like they would lint an awful lot though.

Where did you find them?
I don't really have any interest in them for the vehicles, but they might be something my wife would use around the house.

They might make their way this far south.
We have Dollar Store, Family Dollar, Dollar Zone, Dollar General, and probably several others that I'm not remembering.
Chance are I will never see them and my wife will just have to put up with the old t-shirts I make her use now.
And if you believe that crap, I have a bridge to talk to you about.

Yikes! Please don't use cheap towels to remove dust and dirt... even if you are using S & W. Use HIGH QUALITY towels on your paint finish!

Empire01 is relatively new and is doing just fine.
Re: MF towels are getting cheaper

I just picked up a pack of them from Sam's club. I got about 24 for like $10.00
I thought they were going to be cheap as soon as i opened the package, and the first few wipes some lint came off, but after that, they worked fine. No complaints.

Re: MF towels are getting cheaper

Costco has some .. you get something like 65 of them for 15 bucks and i did the CD scratch test with them and they work great, just as good as the more expensive ones I've used. so i bought 5 packs 5 months ago, they work absolutely wonderful. No need to fall for the gimmick price!

Re: MF towels are getting cheaper

I do not think falling prices means lower quality. It could mean lots of places have invested the technology so there is a lot more competition. You have to take each on a case by case basis but I am sure those making it volumes are focusing on lower cost towels. The cheaper towels tend to be lighter weight.

Re: MF towels are getting cheaper

My Daughter got me a 24 pack from Sam's for my birthday and I have used them on all of my vehicles including my show car.

I sorted them and took two out for wheels because they did not look like they were as nice as the rest but 24 for ten bucks is a good deal.

I read all the time about you get what you pay for but in my opinion the so called quality towels are over priced.
I can detail my car with the towels from Sam's and not one of you on this forum could tell if I used them or a towel that cost ten dollars a piece and yes I have MF towels that cost me 10 bucks a piece.

Re: MF towels are getting cheaper

I picked up a pack of 24 from Sams about a month ago. Just like Empire said on the first couple of wipes a small amount of lint came off, but after that they were fine. I wonder if you threw them in the wash before using them, if that might take care of the lint...just a thought

Washing MF towels before use has been recommended for years.
Not only to remove lint, but to remove any other debris that might be in them from the manufacturing process, the packing, shipping and handling of them prior to your purchase.
