So what is it that makes WW towels so great. We all know they are amazing at absorbing but i really like that they do not lint like cotton towels do. Whats your take?

I like WW towels because of their absorbency. Regular MF towels don't do a great job at absorbing, rather than slushing water or QDs around on the paint.

I guess I would choose all three but if I had to pick one it would be safe on paint. It could soak up an entire five gallon bucket of water, but if it scratches the paint what would be the point.

Other than using them on glass I don't really care for WW towels.
That's kind of my feeling.
I can't say I don't really care for them, but I don't use them much for other than windows. That's probably due to the type of washing I do more than anything.

Most of my washing is with either S&W or a rinseless wash. Regular MF towels are what I use for either the S&W or the rinseless wash.
When I do a true hose & bucket wash, I usually finish with Duragloss Aqua Wax and I use regular MF towels for that as well.
FWIW, I don't find it a problem to dry a car with a regular MF towel. Mine seem to absorb water pretty well.
I used to use MF towels to dry my cars but after seeing WW in action and how well it drys I bought a couple of larger sizes and 2 smaller ones for drying windows and never looked back at regular MF drying towels again.
My vote goes for absorbency as the main reason for owning WW towels.
That and regular MF towels....from Poorboys's at that! Maybe I just got a low end batch of WW's (NOT from Poorboy) but they just aren't anything special except for the larger size. Glass is about it as far as using them.

If you guys will allow me let me explain the tech aspects as to how a WW works and why it's really no more, or less, absorbent than any other towel.
A WW is technically called a Piqué (pee-kay) weave. The weaving method gives it the characteristic hills and valleys you see, or waffle effect. The yarn used (cotton, polyester, rayon, whatever) has no effect on the weave.
OK, so now you have a WW towel in hand and a wet car. You pass the towel over the surface and what happens is that all the hills squeegee up the water and scoop it into the valleys. The valleys then do the absorbing. That's the simple explanation. Now to get a bit more complicated...
Wicking rate...
The fibers used to weave a towel absorb at a certain rate. Some fast, some slow. THe amounts don't matter as much as the rate. So you pass a regular terry towel (cotton or polyester) overt a wet surface really fast and you don't a get a very good drying job. Pass the towel very slowly and guess what, like a miracle the towel is doing a far better job. What's happening here is that you are giving the fibers a chance to absorb the liquids.
This absorbency rate is fixed, if you take a certain yarn and make a regular towel or a WW the absorbency is identical between the two. What makes a WW appear to absorb better is that the little valleys are given a chance to absorb at their own rate.
Keep this in mind next time you clean your windows or apply an LSP. Spray the surface then wipe very fast to spread the product evenly across the surface. Fold the towel and then wipe slowly to allow the towel to absorb any excess.
I like them for their easiness on paint. Still allways use S&G while drying though. If I wanted pure absorbancy and ease of use, I'd go with the Absorber.
Absorbency is probably the number one factor for me.
