I realize not everyone here has tried all the kinds of buffers that are out there but if you could only use one buffer what would it be?
I have already said I would pick the FLEX XC 3401. It's the most versatile polisher I have found.
Flex Polishers
FLEX makes both dual action and circular (rotary) polishers. Their polishers are built to professional standards with features like rugged housing, variable speed triggers, controlled acceleration, overload protection, temperature monitoring, and auto shut-off carbon brushes. Whether you choose a dual action or a circular polisher, you will enjoy years of hassle-free use with your FLEX polisher.
Re: What is Your Favorite Type of Buffer/Polisher?
I'm interested to see which way this poll will head.I have decided to just skip the pc,now I'm trying to decide between the flex and makita

Although the Cyclo has never let me down the Flex gets my vote with the rotary a close second. I'll never buy either one since I don't do enough work anymore to warrant either.......... but I can wish.

I'd lean towards the Flex if it weren't for it's lack of pad size choices. For that reason I voted rotary. However, I use the Flex most often for correction, the rotary for compounding, PC for finishing and a Metabo SXE400 for getting into tight places.

lol that would be me troy. I'm not afraid to use my buffers, in fact I use them quite often on rare occasions when I do private vehicles . I've got an orbital and a speed buffer. when I started dry washing aircraft I tried using the buffers to apply and then buff my aircrafts using jetstreams flyers speed wax they polish pretty ok but I found that when using these products elbow grease works alot better besides if you burn or swirl the paint on a vehicle it will probably cost you 1000 tops to fix it. If that happens to a flap or tail rudder your looking at 10 to 20,000 depending on the aircraft

Hitachi 18SP18VA rotary for me definitely. If I had one choice it would be rotary for its quickness correction capabilities. If I was a hobbiest or weekend detailer I would have to vote for something else.

Coming from the world of Meguairs. All I have used is the G100. G110, and a cheap rotary to practice on. So I had to say G100/110.
