Info on HI-Temps Poly Plate

I was given a quart of Hi-Temp's Poly Plate...I was wondering if any one used it and if it will strip any of the sealant already on the car.

I tried it on the tailgate of my truck and it was easy on and off. The shine was very nice looking and slick...I just do not want to apply to whole truck till I have more info on it as in stripping any of the sealant .

The Hi-Temp dealer near me told me use it as a QD spray but did not know about stripping any sealant as this is a new product line for them....the bottle also is not very informative...

Also wanted to know if it stained trim...it is suppose to be some type of acrylic urethane????

this is just some info I found on a website when I googled it!

Poly Spray "quick shine" polymer spray wax is an instant spray and shine for show cars, showroom vehicles, or quick shine after washing. It contains a UV sunblock and surface grime cleaner. Becuase of the cleaning properties, only apply over wax you want to remove.

Poly Spray also removes paste wax "streaking", so common on humid days. If you use Poly Spray with a Microfiber towel, this "streak-eliminating" feature is unmatched. No need to rub.

Always wash a vehicle before applying any product. We never recommend using this, or any product as a "dry wash".

Work on a section at a time. Lightly spray directly on paint, aluminum, Fiberglass or plastic. Let dry and lightly wipe with a terry towel or diaper.

maybe some one else will chime in and give a hands on experience on this product..like I said..it looks nice but do not want to strip off all my hard work..

Polyspray is a very nice product with some cleaning properties but it should not be mistaken for a QD. It is nice for a quick shine and has a decent longevity, perhaps 4 to 6 weeks depending on ones washing and driving habits. As far as my experience goes with it it does not stain trim and can be used on chrome and glass, only on exterior glass though as it may cause interior glass to "bead" when moisture builds up and that would not be good for the driver :shift

A polymer product, as I am told, cannot mix with UV absorbers.

There is this from the Hi-Temp website: HT-78 Poly Plate [is] A simple, easy on, easy off, wipe down sealant and detailer's spray. Produces a rich, deep, luxurious shine on glass, chrome, and paint.

I therefore do not believe it will remove any sealants on the vehicle. It leaves behind some protection which should make the sealant that was applied to last longer.

I have been using this product for a couple of years. I do not believe it will remove anything except wax swirls just like a detailing spray will.

While I frequently find Top of the Line's suggestions helpful, I disagree with their warning that Poly Plate will remove wax or sealant. If I remember correctly, several years ago, I brought this to Hi-Temp's attention and they said they would discuss this with TOTL. If they did talk with TOTL, they were unsuccessful in changing their mind.
