glass vs paint

Why is it when you apply protection to glass(rain x) and to the paint(poly sealer) at the same time that the glass seems to stay protected for longer. At least it beads for a longer time compared to the paint.

Re: glass vs paint

paint being porose is more likely to suffer the effects of oxidizitaion than glass would be my guess
