I smiled and grunted a little bit. I then proceeded to toss a couple coats of wax on it.
It is for my wife.
If you would like to use it, stop by when we have about 6" of snow and I will even start it for you.
Like a lot of our stuff, it is about 30+ years old, but still does the job.

Man tells wife they is going to move South.
Wife says where?
Man says he will strap a snow shovel on the front of his car and when someone asks him what the heck that's for, that's where we stop.

Six inches of snow? That's it? I come Rochester, NY. There were days we'd wake up to 15 inches of the stuff...and still go to work.

Re: Wake Up...DC

I consider myself more republican than democrat but I do not like the intolerance in many republican candidates and I think this is what turns some of the media off. It is not a positive message.

They will say every democrat (or anyone that disagrees with them as a socialist, godless, big spenders, pro-terrorist and anti-Israel, baby killers, and the root of every problem the Bush Admin failed at (9/11, Katrina, Iraq, the financial crisis, increasing deficits with uncontrolled spending with tax cuts without spending cuts, just as corrupt as the democrats they replaced, political partisanship to new levels.

This is why republicans invented the term "compassionate conservative" to appeal to moderates.

Re: Wake Up...DC

[quote=CharlesW;265874]So far, an interesting discussion, but as with all political discussions, it would be easy for it to get out of hand.
It is funny how each side can distort facts to benefit themselves or put fear into people ...IMO ..GW and his administration has used 9/11 to foster fear and raise the alert to hide their ineptness of their policies.. with one of the all time lowest ratings of any President in history, I think the American people have seen this too..

1. The election is over, the choice has been made.

As McCain said..the people have made it clear what they want...
2. Whether we like it or don't like it, we really need to try to make it work.

Exactly whether we like it or not ... neither would have been my first choice

3. As mentioned in another thread, it will be good to be free from all the negativity in the campaigning.

4. All the rhetoric will be history shortly, and the actions taken will tell us if the right choice was made.

How true

5. It's been working great for me so far.
Gas is down to $1.81 here and seems to be coming down a little every day. (Yes, I know that will probably change, but let me enjoy it while I can.

Go for it Charles.. just let them know about it around here as it hasn't gotten that cheap here

My Social Security check is going up 5.8% soon and I will have more disposable income.

OOH is that a sign of more detailing products coming your way

My wife just increased my allowance citing the "Redistribution of Wealth" discussed during the campaign.
Ditto of last response

Our three vehicles are prepped for winter.

That means more spare time

The lawn has probably been mowed for the last time this year.

What no leaves to blow?

The snow blower is ready to go.

That reminds me to get Pockets to start mine up

It hasn't snowed yet.

Let's we won't see any for a while... except in mountains where people can go ski

My wife and I are staying in good health.

That's good

Last but not least, I have been able to access DC with no problem for several days now.

That's good too

Life is good!

indeed

Either I didn't make myself clear or you didn't understand what I meant.
Anything less than 6" of snow, my wife just hand shovels it. That way, I don't have to get out of bed to start the snow blower for her.

Actually, 2" to 6" is probably the norm around my area with very few of the 12" to 18" snowfalls that some areas receive. Snow, we just basically accept and go about things in our regular routine.
The freezing rain and ice is a different story. At one time last year, I had a build up of over 3" of solid ice on the driveway. Snowed, freezing rain, snowed, more freezing rain. It took chipping it loose with a spade to get rid of it. The snowblower wasn't any help at all.
Don't you miss the North Country?

Re: Wake Up...DC

When I first suggested to the wife that we get a snow blower, her response was "We can just get two shovels." Apparently, if I had a shovel in each hand, it would go quicker.

She didn't use the snow blower, lawnmower, or any other piece of outdoor power equipment.
