What are your Favorite Kind of Movies?

I just saw The Pursuit of Happyness for the second time and I must say this movie definitely ranks in my top ten. Will Smith did a great job with it as well as his son (who is his son in real life). I highly recommend this movie it will truly make you appreciate what you have.

Another recent movie I thought was excellent was Blood Diamond. You could tell the director wanted to send a message with this one. It exposes some ugly truths about the world of diamonds and life in conflict areas of Africa.

A recent movie that I did not like was Babel. Not because it was a bad story but the way it was done was very annoying and boring to me. I hate movies that leave you feeling miserable at the end.

My favorite kind of movies are the inspirational movies. (Remember the Titans, Miracle, Pursuit of Happyness etc...) I also really like the spy movies like The Bourne Series, Mission Impossibles, Jack Ryan Series and The Recruit etc...

What's your favorite kind of movie?

Re: What are your Favorite Kind of Movies?

Where's the option for the films that are well written and have great acting? I don't like to say that I like one type or dislike certain types. I have a small collection of DVD's(somewhere over 500 boxes) and really enjoy evaluating the writing, plots, character development, and the acting.

I am a sci fi buff and have been since I saw "The Forbidden Planet" in 1956 or 57. As with all movies some are exceptional and some laughable but I'm
hooked on them.

I am with audiboy. I love great movies. That's what I appreciate most in a movie. Inspiration is good, romance is good (romance, not gratutious sex) , and action (has to be a good story line and good acting...sorry Van Damne and Steven Seguil)...and not too fond of horror

Re: What are your Favorite Kind of Movies?

Depends on what I am in the mood for and if the wife or kids will be watching. With a home theater setup I like to get moveis with lots of sound; gunfire, chases, explosions, etc. Yet also like a good plot and acting. Some of my favorites in no particular order:
Sound of Music
The Outlaw Josey Wales
Thirteen Ghosts
Animal House
The Incredibles
