Paint on the rag

If a car has a clearcoat should there be red paint on the wax applicator? I am waxing my 97 Celica. I am using Meguiars NXT. Pictures are here:

Re: Paint on the rag

I would have to say your doesnt have a CC hence the paint on your applicator or rag. I think toyota traditionally havent done much with CC and still maybe use SS paint? But if it is a SS paint then it woudl be ok having some paint transfer onto your applicator. NXT has slight cleaners in it that would cause that to happen.

Re: Paint on the rag

I lied to you last night, I was using Scratch X when I was getting the red on the rag. I guess I had NXT on the brain.

Re: Paint on the rag

ok. Same answer. The scratch X would defniatly give off red when used on SS paint.
