Re: steps before waxing

Yeah, that's pretty much a good layout. I don't follow/agree with the whole wash-clay-wash mantra. If youre going to polish after you wash and clay, I think it's sort of a waste of time to wash again. Just a personal opinion and all.

Now washing after heavy compounding or a lot of polishing may be a different story.........

I'm not the cat's meow in waxing since we do other things, but I apply my clay with a waxy lubricant. If I know there is a lot of chemical fallout and some overspray, sap, etc., I use a diluted acid wash as the first step.
I also use a mild degreaser between polish & wax, so:

(Acid) Wash with Degreasing Soap
Clay
Inspection
Polish
Cleaning
Sealant/Wax (I know waxes better than sealants).

Am I wrong?

Re: steps before waxing

a couple people on here and by word of mouth recommend me to use a sealant then wax. And i wanted a real gloss shine so i was leaning towards carnuba wax.sealant because i live in florida and it's hot!!!!
