edschwab1 is very helpful and well-respected.
Re: can i repolish after waxing????

If I were wet sanding, I would follow the 1000 with 2000 then 2500 or 3000 grit for a finer finish, which will require a lighter compound to remove the scratches.

After sanding I would:
1.Wash vehicle
2. Fine cut compound with a cutting pad
3. Polish (such as ssr 2.5, dacp, FI II)with a polishing pad
4. SMR (such as PI-III MG, #80, #82)with polishing or finishing pad
5. Wax or sealant

Re: can i repolish after waxing????

You can repolish, but you'll have to apply your LSP. The polishing will remove the LSP. 1000 is pretty coarse to end on, you must have been working with the 3M compound for a while.

Last Step Product.

I don't know where the list of all the abbreviations that we use is but perhaps someone would be kind enough to do so.

You would polish then you an SMR??
I'm a little confuised with that step..
I thought you would use an SMR after your fine cut or compound..
Then you would polish the cleaned 'removed swirl' surface..no?
And why would you use SSr2.5 as a polish?? When it's a fine leveling compound?
You can use it with a polishing pad yes...but aren't you skipping a step...with not putting a polish like PBPP on there before wax?
Thanks..

i polish and wax my car once a month. In between waxes after I wash I apply Meg's NXT spray wax. It's a wax booster. leaves the car lookin just waxed and feelin nice and smooth.
