always fooling with the car

Hey guys, I have a question.

As an amateur detailer, I'm always wanting to fool with my car using new products. Is it essential to remove all LSP's every time I want to try something new? For example, I would like to try Black Hole glaze + Souveran, but I just cleaned the paint + Wolfgang Sealant + Souveran two weeks ago.

If I want the "true" look of a product or combo I will polish first. If I'm messing around and really don't care then I just put it or them on top after a thorough washing.

If it is just looks you want to see and not durability then I would just used a cleaner or pure polish and then apply what you want.

I think that you should do what ever trips your trigger and give us the details as you go along. Especially if you are jsut hankering to do something on the car. If you are doing something to it more often than a month.....no matter which product...your paint will be fine and the look will be for the eye of the beholder.

As Sal said earlier, if I were to want the most protection for the longest time I would not mix products as you suggest without at least a paint cleaner after a good wash.

I do the same here except I use clay...most of the time I am just doing a panel or so to see what it looks like...if I don't care I just layer it right on top!
