Liquid Souveran
I decided to try this sequence on my black
Mazdaspeed3: - Remove old sealants and waxes - PB Black Hole - Wolfgang Sealant - Souveran paste - Liquid Souveran I've never seen anything like it. It looks like a pool of black glass. Absolutely stunning. However, the LS produced an enormous amount of static electricity. I could feel it as I was wiping it off with microfiber! Is this common in liquid formulas? Mark (newbie) |

Re: Liquid Souveran
Wow! That is a lot of work. I can certainly understand how you might be real happy with the look.
I have never experienced static as you have described. I do not know what to say???

Re: Liquid Souveran
I used to get this a lot when I dried my MF in the dryer. For some time now, I have been running them in the dryer until they are damp, and then let them air dry the rest of the way. It cut down a lot on static build up. I've never really noticed it (static) being product dependent.

Re: Liquid Souveran
Wow... I'll bet that does look great. Just a note on the order of products there... I haven't used Black Hole before and I'm not sure what type of product it is, but just remember that sealants shouldn't be layered over any waxes. If Black Hole had any wax in it then you could impact the durability. If not, then that was probably a good order to do it in.
One other note is on the Souveran order. I've played with the Souveran waxes a lot over the last several years and I've found that I get better results when I put the paste over the liquid. Not only on a static reduction level either. Liquid waxes typically have a much much higher solvent content than paste waxes. For this reason they don't make great LSPs. If you are going to layer the Souveran waxes then you will probably see better results by layering the paste over the liquid just so you aren't compromising either layer. Just a thought. If nothing else then you might see a difference in the static.

Re: Liquid Souveran
Black Hole is a glaze with very mild cleaning properties, no waxes, no silicones. Really an awesome look on black. I'm going to use White Diamond on my girl's silver Acura this weekend. I got the idea of liquid over paste from another thread so I thought I'd try it. It sounded strange to me too.
I'll post some pics in the next few days. |

Re: Liquid Souveran
What I did was do 1/2 the hood with LS the other 1/2 with paste. Then I topped them with the opposite and the winning (imo) was the paste topped by the liquid. If you haven't tried this then when you get a chance do so and tell me what you think.
I should be getting some Black Hole soon.
