Out with the Old in with the New

Well the car that made me first do a search for better products that led me here, is now going out to pasture.

So to my beloved 95 Taurus we say goodbye

But fear not!!! There is something new for me to experiment with, my new (to me atleast) 02` Olds Alero.

These were all shot from cars.com and I look forward to taking pics of her in my driveway.

The salesperson thought I was crazy when he said "don`t worry I have the car detailed before you pick it up" and told him not to have the car touched.

There are enough swirl marks on the car already, and I didn`t need his guy adding any halos to the mix

With luck I can get it looking as good as my old car

Jay, haven`t you heard? Olds went out of business.

    Congratulations on your new purchase.

The Alero was such a great car.

Shame they came at the end of Oldsmobile as a brand

Parts and service are available from all General Motors dealerships.

They are pretty much like the Grand Am.....

Your title should be Out with the old in with the Old(s) .

Congrats on the new ride Jay. Car looks to be in good shape but whats the deal with the rear bumper? Does that come with leather? Can`t wait to see that all shined up.

Re: Out with the Old in with the New

Thanks everyone, feels kinda wierd looking at a car I own thats all swirled up
But i`ll get her in to where it should be soon enough.

It is a shame that GM decided to dicontinue the Oldsmobile line but as TexasTB pointed out, it pretty much is a Grand AM and I shouldn`t have any problem finding parts, and GM will still be able there (I hope).

I thought of Out with the old in with the Old(s) after I posted, I guess GMTA.
Leather is the 1 thing that it didn`t have that I wanted, but I can`t win them all.
As for the bumper, I think that the dealership mechanic got grease on the bumper that they wiped off because there is no marks on it when I saw it

    BlackWrx:
So what was your impression of the car. Good, bad, did I just buy a money pit?

I look forward to putting many happy miles and many happy hours polishing and putting on sealants and waxes

Red face Re: Out with the Old in with the New

Congratulations on the new ride, J!! I`m sure you`ll have it polished up like the Taurus in no time!!

Did I miss something happening to the Taurus, or was it just "time for a change"??

I wish you many safe, shiny & happy miles!!
Don`t it always seem to go, you don`t know what you`ve got til it`s gone?
